The kids and I read this book together and they enjoyed it and gave it 4/5 Stars. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Shaelyn is 8 years old and Kemper is 6. I am going to hand this review over to them now!
Bette did a really good job on this book. It teaches kids the lifecycle of a Monarch butterfly. This book also teaches you to have patience.
We liked how Matilda had patience and didn’t really know what she was doing but she still got her wings.
Our favorite character was Sparrow. She had wings and could fly, so she knew what she was doing when she told Matilda to follow her instincts and to be patient.
It would be really cool if there was a second book where Matilda laid eggs and had babies. That would show the life cycle starting all over again. She should name a boy one Kemper and a girl one Shaelyn. 😉
There are also a ton of links on her website for fun and learning with Monarchs. There you can find facts, coloring pages, crafts, games, and origami butterfly instructions. You can also learn how to raise your own butterflies and make a butterfly house. We’re really excited to try some of these out!
Well there you have it, my kid’s thoughts on Amazing Matilda. Does this sound like something a child in your life would enjoy?
